It takes place mostly before Sydney moves into Ridge’s apartment and is all about the two cameo characters Warren and Bridgette. This is a short story that runs alongside Maybe Someday. It explores and explains Bridgette and Warren’s relationship, who we sort of meet briefly as background characters in Maybe Someday.
Colleen Hoover’s new novella Maybe Not is the follow-up to her wonderfully unique NA Contemporary Maybe Someday. For those who haven’t read Maybe Someday, Colleen does a great job setting up the story, so you can read Maybe Not without being too lost. It takes place parallel to the timeline of Maybe Someday and a lot of the same situations that were present with all the characters in the first book are shown in this one as well.
To give you some insight into the story, Maybe Someday (the first book) is about a very unique musician, his roommates, and possibilities. He lives with 3 roommates, one is his BFF, one is his brother and one is a very angry girl. When we meet the BFF and girl in the first book they are at each other’s throats and constantly bickering but even though they weren’t the prime focus of the story you could feel the heat between the two coming off the pages and readers were dying to learn more of the volatile couple. So Colleen being the fab writer she is gave it to us! So Maybe Not is their story.
